Amalgam Separator

2705

Amalgam separators are devices used in dental offices to capture amalgam particles from the water that flows through pipes. Amalgam separators are devices designed to capture amalgam particles from dental office wastewater through sedimentation, filtration, centrifugation, or a combination of these mechanisms.

There's more than one way they work, but most commonly it will be by sedimentation or filtration with centrifugation

Quite simply, an amalgam separator is a mercury collection device that sits 'inline' between the operatory and vacuum pumps. This can be done by simply having the device sit in between your pumps and vacuums while they work their magic!
